This class of bomb ends up with the largest area effect of any bomb class, but does not hit everything in its area. Blast Bombs specialize in Normal damage.Ĭrystal: Crystal bombs launch shards of crystal outward from the bomb. The main Blast Bomb line, with Nitronome as its 5* representative, is freely available in the Bazaar in Haven. They do a good deal of damage to everything in their area effect, and typically knock enemies back outside of the area effect. Each class of bomb functions very differently.īlast: These bombs are your stereotypical explosion bombs. There are four major classes of bomb (named after the base bomb in the class): Blast, Crystal, Graviton, and Haze. That said, Bombs can be incredibly useful in skilled hands, and can make otherwise-difficult fights relatively easy. There are more Spiral Knights who go into the Clockworks without a Bomb than there are those who go without a Gun AND those who go without a Sword. The second ring is a count-down timer - when it reaches the Area Effect ring, the bomb detonates, doing its effect.īombs are less-used than Guns and Bombs. Once planted, the bomb will have an Area Effect ring display on the ground around the bomb, and a second ring that grows from the bomb out to the Area Effect ring. When used, a Bomb is charged up, and then planted at the user's feet (not thrown). Bombs are unusual in that they do not have a "Normal" attack - their only attack is a Charge attack. Neko's Less-than-comprehensive Guide to Bombsīombs are the third class of weapon that a Spiral Knight can use, after Swords and Guns. I have a little time idle today, so without further ado, I present: Oh yeah, could I ask someone with a vanilla level-10 Leviathan Blade and someone with a vanilla level-10 Cold Iron Vanquisher to enter the Advanced Training Hall without any +damage gear and smack one of those bots, and record the damage from the first swing? Avengers and Fausts also have the unfortunate drawback of stupidly hard UV fishing, but that's a separate question. Probably sick in Arenas though.Īnyone have suggestions for other candidates? I'm leaning towards the first sword on the list at the moment due to its overall performance. ? Depending on just how fast Maximum! Charge Time Reduction is, this might be awesome or useless in most boss fights. + At level 10, reaches Maximum! Charge Time Reduction, so you can spam pink swordbeams (- requires Curse resist). + Pwns JK runs, but I don't know how the average slime's Shadow Damage vulnerability stacks up against the higher Normal Damage from Leviathan. + Only needs 1 PC of Vog Cub to reach Maximum! Attack Speed + Highest base Shadow damage weapon in the game. Basically a vanilla Leviathan Blade for Vanaduke runs. ~ No status effects, Jelly King isn't actually a Jelly for the purposes of bonus damage (according to forum testing) + Like the Cold Iron Obliterator above, but for JK runs. Basically a vanilla Leviathan Blade for JK runs. + Damage bonuses and attack speed bonuses (such as Vog) synergize. + Makes Cold Iron Vanquisher look silly (damage bonuses are percentile, and Leviathan has roughly 30% more base damage than CIV according to forum testing). + Only needs 1 PC of Vog Cub to reach Maximum! Attack Speed (if you're wearing Vog for the resists, you can settle for UV: Medium Attack Speed) + Highest base Normal damage weapon in the game. I realize that I may end up concluding that I need multiples, but here goes: I asked in /g last night what people thought the best hypothetical endgame sword would be, so I know what to work towards.
